Koru : New life or beginning, harmony and peace. The koru is derived from the native New Zealand fern frond. In Maori culture, It stands for new beginnings, new life, growth and harmony. Each piece is imbued with a deep significance, though the Maori carved in many materials they valued jade greenstone, or pounamu in Maori, highest of all.
